Pringle of Scotland was founded in 1815 by Robert Pringle in the Scottish town of Hawick. With over a 200-year history, it can be considered one of the oldest luxury fashion brands in the world.
The signature Argyle pattern, the ‘twinset’ and cardigans that graced the shoulders of British royalty and Hollywood stars were all made famous, or in some instances made for the first time, by Pringle of Scotland.
It was Pringle that coined the term ‘knitwear’ to describe its ever-growing collections. Known and loved around the world for its use of cashmere, Pringle was granted the Royal Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1956 and today continues to proudly represent British knitwear and champion British heritage.
