Established in 1978, Penny Hydraulics is a second generation family engineering business. It has considerable in-house design and manufacturing capabilities and takes pride in finding novel solutions to customer problems. The main product ranges are goods lifts, chandelier winches, hanging points and vehicle mounted cranes.
The company was founded and for many years relied upon servicing the UK coal mining industry. This was a very demanding sector requiring a wide range of skills that have been built on and expanded resulting in the forward thinking and diversified business of today. Sustainability is a key driver and operating in the close knit community of an ex-mining town the company leads on many community projects, helps schools to raise aspirations and promotes engineering as a career through apprenticeships. Solar panels generate 50% of the factory electricity.
