Established in 1799, we are very proud to still be producing the original potted shrimp from Morecambe, Lancashire. Baxters Potted Shrimps are produced in 50g, 100g and 200g cartons. As specialists in the mail order service, our shrimps are dispatched fresh to individuals and catering establishments alike.
Baxters is one of the oldest – if not the oldest – family firm in Morecambe. The family arrived in the district in the 1600s, and in the early days combined farming with fishing. The fishing side of the business grew with Morecambe, and Baxters was founded in 1799 by James Baxter. We have been potting shrimps for 130 years, and have never altered the basic process and secret original recipe. By using only the best raw materials, in hygienic conditions, we achieve a consistently high-quality product. Potted shrimps freeze extremely well.
