David Winston brings to his work a rare combination of disciplines. He originally trained as a violin-maker, before furthering his training as a keyboard instrument-maker, restorer and conservator. He has been entrusted with the restoration of some of the most valuable instruments in the world, including those of Beethoven and Chopin. His client base is global, with instruments sent to his workshops from all over the world. Besides maintaining a busy schedule of restoration for clients, an important component of his business is the sale of rare keyboard instruments, offering unique art-case pianos and harpsichords from the 18th century, right through to special contemporary pianos.
