Chairman of James & Son (Grain Merchants) Ltd
Bob joined James & Son in 1968 and has held the position of Chairman since 1993. Bob has been the formal Grantee of the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II since 25 January 1993 although James & Son was originally granted the Warrant in January 1952 to His Majesty King George VI.
Bob was appointed BFBi (Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry Suppliers Association) National Chairman in 2005 and plays an active role within the BFBi, currently serving as Chairman of the Brewers Grains and Co-Products Committee. He is also a senior member of the Institute and Guild of Brewing.
James & Son was established in 1850 in London and Bob has been the lead instigator of the expansion of the company into different markets, establishing a new company in Australia (1990), Argentina (1998) and New Zealand (2000). He is an enthusiastic supporter of environmental issues, and serves on the ‘Green Committee’ of the Association.
