Champagne Louis Roederer

Food & Drink

Champagne Louis Roederer is a family-owned producer of Grande Marque champagne. The company was founded in 1776 in Reims, Champagne, France, and produces a range of champagnes, including Cristal, the original prestige cuvée made for Tsar Alexander II.
Champagne Louis Roederer is one of the few remaining independent and family-owned great Champagne houses. In January 2006 the management of the house passed from Jean-Claude Rouzaud to his son, making Frédéric Rouzaud the seventh generation of the family at the head of the company.

Roederer owns just over 240 hectares of vineyards located in the Grand and Premier vineyards of Champagne – Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. Roederer uses 100% of its own grapes for vintage styles, and provides over 75% of its own grapes for Brut Premier. Roederer farm all their vineyards organically and are steadily converting to biodynamic farming practices.
