Krug is the only champagne house to offer five prestige cuvées of equal, undisputed quality and distinction. Krug Grande Cuvée is a blend of around 120 wines from 10 or more vintages, giving it a fullness of flavours. More than 20 years are needed to craft each bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée.
The House of Krug was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a maverick man who understood that the essence of champagne is pleasure itself. Transcending the notion of vintage, he succeeded in offering a champagne of undisputed quality every year, regardless of climate variations. By respecting the individuality of every plot and by establishing an extensive ‘library’ of reserve wines, Joseph Krug founded the first and only champagne house to exclusively create prestige champagnes.
